We are looking for people who are ready to contribute their skills and passion to a cause greater than themselves in the following position: Position: State Program Coordinator Location: Ilorin, Kwara State Overview of Functions: SHEAD Centre Kwara is seeking a proactive and skilled State Program Coordinator to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of community-based health and development projects. The ideal candidate should have experience working on donor-funded programs, especially in TB/HIV, Hepatitis, or community mobilization initiatives. Key Responsibilitie Required Skills and Competencies: • Strong knowledge of community-based health programming, preferably TB/HIV or Hepatitis projects. • Ability to coordinate field teams and work with diverse stakeholders. • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic data reporting tools (Kobo, ODK, or similar). • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills. • Strong problem solving and time management abilities. • Ability to work independently and within a team in a hybrid work setting. Preferred Qualifications: • A university degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field. • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in an NGO environment or coordinating community health programs. • Experience supporting Global Fund TB/HIV projects or similar donor-funded health initiatives is an added advantage. Unilorin Health Week: SHEAD Centre Leads Medical Outreach with TB Screening, HIV Testing & Public Health Mobilization SHEAD CENTRE – INC Advances ‘Health for All in Action’ During Unilorin Health Week Medical Outreach In a bold move beyond our usual focus areas, SHEAD CENTRE – INC demonstrated its commitment to universal healthcare access by partnering with the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) Students’ Union during their 2025 Health Week. This impactful medical outreach was themed around “Health for All in Action”, delivering integrated healthcare services right to the heart of the campus community. Our outreach featured a comprehensive social mobilization and medical intervention, carried out in collaboration with the State TB and Leprosy Control Program (STBLCP). A major highlight was the deployment of a mobile digital X-ray system powered by Qure.ai, enabling early and efficient Tuberculosis (TB) screening for students and staff. In addition to TB detection, the outreach provided free diagnostic testing and essential health supplies, including: Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) Test Kits HIV/Syphilis Combo Test Kits Medical Gloves Face Masks Malaria Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) Kits Thanks to our strategic efforts, several health cases were successfully identified and linked to proper care, ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey to wellness. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Iyanuoluwa Ayinde, our devoted State Coordinator, for her tireless work on the field, and to Joseph Abioye (MPH, FHL, FAIPH), our esteemed Program Director, for his visionary leadership and unwavering guidance. SHEAD CENTRE – INC Campaigns and Initiatives on World Menstrual Hygiene Day May 28th, 2024 symbolizes the average 28-day menstrual cycle and the average duration of menstruation, which is five days, thus reinforcing the importance of the cause it champions. The theme for World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024 is #PeriodFriendlyWorld. Today, on World Menstrual Hygiene Day, we at SHEAD CENTRE – INC through our great team Iyanuoluwa Ayinde, Joseph Abioye and Olamide in #KwaraState went out to raise awareness, break down barriers, and create a #PeriodFriendlyWorld. At SHEAD CENTRE – INC, our mission is to champion menstrual health and hygiene in schools and communities. We believe that every girl deserves a safe and private space during her period. We used our comprehensive menstrual health education to empower girls with the information they need to manage their periods confidently. We provided affordable menstrual products within the schools. Period poverty should never be a barrier to education. No girl should miss school because of her period. We therefore use this medium to appeal to teachers, peers, and families to create a supportive environment where emotional and practical support is readily available. Together, we break the silence surrounding periods as we continue to advocate for equality, health, and dignity for all. STATE REVIEW MEETING OF KWARA STATE TUBERCULOSIS LEPROSY AND BURULI ULCER CONTROL PROGRAMME (KWSTBLCP) First Quarter, 2024 State Review Meeting of Kwara State Tuberculosis Leprosy and Buruli Ulcer Control Programme (KWSTBLCP) attended by SHEAD team represented by Iyanuoluwa Ayinde and Olamide Daniel. The meeting was graced with the presence of the Hon Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam and Director of Public Health Dr Oluwatosin Fakayode. The Hon Commissioner commended the great effort of the State Program Manager Fatima Omowumi Lawal-lah.,ARFH Nigeria SHEAD CENTRE – INC and other stakeholders in ensuring #Tuberculosis is eradicated in the State. She equally encouraged all the TBLS not to relent in their quest to eliminate #TB, #Leprosy #buruliulcer in their various LGA. She there after presented certificates of award of achievements to TBLS of Ilorin West LGA Hajia Afusat Akanbi as the overall best LGA in the Q1 of 2024 and also to Isin LGA, Mr John Adebayo as the most improved LGA in the 1st quarter.
